FAQs
Where is the ceremony/reception?
Our tea ceremony is going to be at my family’s home in Chino Hills. The reception will be at Mando’s lovely godmother’s backyard in Fullerton.
What is a tea ceremony?
Traditionally in the old days back in the motherland, weddings were done as a tea ceremony where the bride and grooms family join together. The groom will come to the bride’s family home for his bride with gifts for her family, and then whisk her away back to his family home. Our parents will be served tea as we ask them for their blessings to be wed.
Who are all invited to the ceremony?
We wish to make the ceremony as intimate as possible, thus, reserving attendees to be only our closest family members, friends, and bridal party to be present. The space we have for the ceremony is limited as it is in a small home.
We are contacting family members individually that we wish to be there with us.
As for little kiddos, Uncle Mando and Auntie Jeanette would love nothing more than to have all the babies there at the reception. But should mamas and dadas want a night to themselves to party that’s A-Okay too ;)
Do I get a plus 1?
Unfortunately at this time due to space limitations we will only be able to accommodate for our closest loved ones and friends for the reception unless otherwise stated. We appreciate your understanding!
What should I wear?
The dress code will be formal wear, but given that the reception is outdoors and in grass, there is no requirement to wear floor length dresses.
Please avoid wearing shades of white/ivory, pink, navy, and red as it has been selected for the bridal party.
Please refer to the Dress Code section for more information. Ladies, if you would like to wear a traditional Vietnamese Áo dài you are more than welcome to!
Where to park?
For those who are coming to the tea ceremony, there will be street parking. Please do not park on the driveway.
For the reception, our family request that guests park in the lot behind the home. Refer to the picture of where to park and the cross streets where you will enter from! The lot will lead into the yard where our reception will be.
